What is BudJet?
BudJet is a personal and household expense tracker. Add purchases manually or scan a receipt to extract the merchant, date, total, and individual items with suggested categories.
A supermarket purchase can contain food, cleaning supplies, and toiletries. Keeping that detail helps you decide what belongs in each budget category instead of treating every store total as the same kind of spending.
BudJet also includes category budgets, household expense sharing, reports, and multiple currencies. Availability and limits depend on the feature and plan; see current pricing.
Receipt processing and privacy
Receipt recognition uses server-side AI processing. It is not an entirely on-device workflow. Check extracted totals, quantities, and category suggestions against the original receipt before relying on them.
The web app can be installed on supported devices, but installation does not make every feature available offline. Receipt recognition needs a network connection. Read the privacy policy before uploading financial documents.
BudJet does not claim that receipt scanning guarantees savings or provides financial advice. Purchase records show what you bought, not necessarily what you consumed.
How we write our guides
Our budgeting and receipt guides use labeled illustrative calculations, link to sources for changing product facts, and distinguish documented features from hands-on test results. BudJet is the publisher; comparisons that include BudJet disclose that relationship.
We preserve an article's original publication date and show an update date when its substance changes. We do not present invented accuracy benchmarks, customer outcomes, or financial-review credentials.
