Drop in a bank statement and see every subscription, what it costs you a year, and when it charges next. Your statement never leaves your browser.

1. Your bank statement

Export a CSV from your bank's website or app, ideally the last 6–12 months. You can add several files. The file is read here in your browser and is never uploaded.

How do I get a CSV from my bank?

Most banks have it under the account's transactions: look for Export, Download or Statement, and pick CSV (sometimes called "Excel"). In apps such as Revolut and N26 it is under Statements; Monzo and Wise offer it under the account's export. PDF statements won't work here.

How it works

Your browser reads the statement and groups payments by merchant. A merchant that charges on a steady rhythm (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly) is a repeating payment. The latest amount sets the yearly cost and the next expected charge; a price that went up during the statement is flagged.

To tell a streaming service from an electricity bill or a transfer to a friend, the names of the repeating payments are sent to our server with every digit removed, and an AI classifier (TypeSafe's Jev, which does not train on what it is sent) picks the service or kind of payment. Amounts, dates, account numbers and the rest of the statement never leave your browser, and nothing is stored.

Before you cancel

Check for annual plans paid in one go, family plans someone else relies on, and free trials that turn paid. Many services let you pause or switch to a cheaper tier, and some offer a discount when you start to cancel. Our guide to the best subscription tracker apps compares ways to keep on top of them, and the monthly bill tracker guide covers the bills.
